REFLEXIVE AND EMPHATIC (Kata Ganti Diri Sendiri) - Reflexive and emphatic (kata ganti diri sendiri) merupakan suatu kata yang dipergunakan untuk kata benda atas dirinya sendiri.

Reflexive dan Emphatic :



Singular             Plural

1. My slef (diri saya sendiri) - Our self (diri kami sendiri)
2. Your self (diri kamu sendiri) - Them self (diri mereka sendiri)
3. Him self (diri dia sendiri) - Them self (diri mereka sendiri)
4. Her self (diri dia sendiri) - Them self (diri mereka sendiri)
5. Its self (diri dia sendiri) - Them self (diri mereka sendiri)

REFLEXIVE

Reflexive :
- Suatu kata yang dipergunakan untuk menunjukkan kata benda atas dirinya sendiri
- Kata benda ini harus menjadi penderita (object) dari transitive verb atau kata perangkai (preposition)

Contoh kalimat :
1. I has gurt my self last night (Saya melukai diri saya sendiri kemarin malam)
2. He has hung him self last week (Dia telah menggantung dirinya sendiri)
3. She is hiding her self behind my house (Dia sedang menyembunyikan dirinya sendiri dibelakang rumah saya)
4. They found tehm selves in the wrong (Mereka menemukan diri mereka sendiri dalam kesalahan)
5. We enjoy our selves in the beach (Kami menikmati diri kami di pantai)

EMPHATIC

Emphatic :
- Suatu kata yang dipergunakan untuk menunjukkan kata benda atas dirinya sendiri
- Kata benda ini harus menjadi penguat pengertian kata bendanya sendiri bukan menjadi penderita (object)

Contoh kalimat :a
1. I my self went to your house last night (Saya pergi kerumah kamu kemarin malam)
2. She her self says that she is pretty (Dia sendiri berkata bahwa dia adalah cantik)
3. He meets them selves in the school yard (Dia menemui mereka sendiri di halaman sekolah)
4. Fika her self goes to meet me in the office (Fika sendiri pergi menemui saya dikantor)
5. Rusdi him self buys the book in the shop (Rusdi sendiri membeli buku di toko)

Catatan :
Reflexive dan kalimat ini tidak boleh berdiri sendiri, akan tetatpi harus ada kata ganti (personal pronoun)

Contoh :
1. My self shall go to Medan tomorrow (Salah)
  - I my self shall go to Medan tomorrow (Benar)
    Saya sendiri akan pergi ke Medan besok
  - She her self writes the letter to me
    Dia sendiri menulis surat untuk saya
